This Makaton Taster Session will be a short informal, interactive and informative introduction to the Makaton communication system.
No previous knowledge or experience of Makaton signs or symbols is needed.
Course Content includes:
- A basic understanding of Makaton Communication
- A brief overview of how and why we use Makaton signs and symbols
- A basic understanding of Makaton’s role in communication development
- Learning Makaton signs and symbols, suitable for basic day to day instructions and conversations
By the end of the course participants will:
- Have a basic understanding what Makaton is as well as how and why we use Makaton
- Have 30 signs and symbols they can use straight away with children, family members or people they work with.
- Receive a certificate of attendance and handouts of signs and symbols taught.
