The Local Authorities are required to update their Local Housing Market Assessment (LHMA) periodically. Citizens and other interested parties are invited to comment on the draft LHMA.

We invite you to read and comment on the Interim Local Housing Market Assessment. 

The consultation will be open until 11th March 2022.

The purpose of the Local Housing Market Assessment (LHMA) is to provide a robust evidence base to inform the Local Housing Strategy (LHS) and the provision of affordable housing within the Local Development Plan (LDP). It also informs strategic housing priorities and can also be used as a tool for negotiating affordable housing provision when determining planning applications and allocating Social Housing Grant (SHG).

The LHMA is prepared in line with guidance by the Welsh Government; Local Housing Market Assessment Guide (2006) and supplementary guidance Getting started with your Local Housing Market Assessment (2014). This methodology has also been used to calculate the affordable housing need within the Conwy LDP.
