Overview of Ecology Proposals
The Kinmel Bay coastline is important for many coastal habitats and species. Sandflats, mudflats and offshore open water provide habitats for internationally important bird species and fish species. Sea mammals (including seals, porpoises and dolphins), forage in the open water in front of the bay.
The Kinmel Dunes Local Nature Reserve next to the site has dune habitat with rare plant species, invertebrates and reptiles. As part of this coastal defence work, we will improve this habitat with management tasks such as scrub clearance and removing invasive species.
