Guidance for individuals and families
The government has made available a collection of guidance on Brexit for individuals and families which includes advice for UK and EU citizens on travelling, working and studying both in the UK and EU.
This includes guidance recently published by the Department for Transport (DfT) on steps people need to take when travelling to Europe for work.
EU Settlement Scheme
The deadline for most people to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme was 30 June 2021.
If you or your family are from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, you can still apply if you or a family member were living in the UK by 31 December 2020. You must also either:
- meet one of the criteria for a later deadline to apply
- have ‘reasonable grounds’ for not applying by 30 June 2021

Information for businesses
Changes will affect businesses across the UK. Regardless of your business size or sector, you will need to comply with these new rules from 1 January 2021.
