Are you a school, college or university leaver ready to explore the world of work? If so, we have several exciting opportunities waiting for you!

Our 16 week, 25 hours per week paid work placements are paid at the National Living Wage and are designed to give you the skills, experience and confidence to take your first steps into your chosen career.

These placements are perfect for those who are looking for a stepping stone into employment, are wanting some work experience to add to their CV, or want to try a role before committing to pursuing it.

Available placements

Trainee Boat Operative


To work under the direct supervision of the Duty Harbour Master in accordance with the weekly work schedule and to operate the mooring vessel / launch / patrol vessel in accordance with the relevant operating instructions.

Support Officer


To support the Hadau Newid Creative Recovery programme, designed to assist people to manage their mental health and wellbeing through structured support, via a range of activities across the week. This includes sessions such as arts and crafts, outdoor pursuits, fishing, bushcraft and singing.

The job purpose is to support the coordinator to ensure that the daily programme runs smoothly, engaging with participants, support in delivery of the sessions if required and relevant administrative tasks.

Leisure Operations Assistant


Ffit Conwy is dedicated to providing customers with an excellent leisure experience at Eirias. Our commitment begins with a warm welcome at reception and extends to maintaining high standard of cleanliness throughout our facilities.

Additionally, our leisure assistant team ensures that fitness and sports equipment is properly set up and taken down, allowing for a seamless and enjoyable visit.

Trainee Assistant IT Officer


Working as a member of the IT Service Desk team: logging and resolving IT issues via the contact centre, chat, emails and face to face; building IT kit, for example laptops, and handing over process to IT users; ensuring all workstations and meeting room kit it set up and functioning for IT users, meetings and training events.

Economic Development Support


To work as part of the Economic Development team and be proactive in supporting the delivery of the ambitions of the Conwy Economic Growth Strategy, the Destination Conwy Management Plan 2023-2029, Creu Conwy - Creating the Spark culture strategy and Welsh Government Regeneration and Visit Wales strategies.

This position offers practical experience in economic development projects, policy analysis, and community engagement.

Strengthening Families Worker


This placement offers a valuable introduction to working in a social support team that helps individuals and families in the community. You will support therapeutic workers by helping prepare activity packs and resources, assisting with simple admin tasks, and occasionally accompanying staff on family visits to observe and learn.

This is a great opportunity to build confidence, communication skills, and an understanding of how social care teams make a difference in people’s lives.

Public Protection Assistant


To support the team to monitor local businesses and environments to ensure they follow health, safety and environmental rules.

This includes assisting with checks, reporting issues and supporting with enforcement tasks under the guidance and supervision of senior staff.

Project Support Officer


This is a great first job for someone who’s organised, friendly and ready to learn. You’ll help the team with a mix of office tasks and community events like job fairs and training sessions.

It’s a varied role where no two days are the same and you’ll get lots of support as you build your skills and confidence.
