Prior to completing a job application, please read through the job description and person specification which can be found in each job advertisement. This will give you an overall feel for the job and what the requirements are to apply.
The requirements are split into two categories:
- Essential criteria – these are quite literally essential to do the job. You must demonstrate how you meet these criteria to be considered for interview. If you are unsure whether you meet the essential criteria, please contact the recruiting manager. Contact details can be found within job adverts.
- Desirable criteria – in addition to essential criteria, desirable criteria help us shortlist candidates for interview. Demonstrating how you meet desirable criteria strengthens your application. If you would like further information before applying for a job, please contact the recruiting manager. Contact details can be found within job adverts.
To make it through to interview stage, you must evidence how you meet the essential criteria within your application form. The easiest way to do this is by writing a paragraph/s for each essential criteria point.
After submitting your application, you will get an acknowledgement that your application has been received. You will even be able to save some of your application details if you wish to apply for another job in the future.
